Characters have various stats and skills which change over the course of the game.
Hunger has a maximum value of 2000 and a minimum value of 0. Characters need to eat food to replenish their hunger. When a character's hunger reaches zero, they will slowly lose health points until their HP reaches one. It is assumed the character eats whatever they can find to survive at 1HP, but they are in a severley weakened and very vulnerable state.
A character starts the game with 20 health points. They can gain health points by levelling up, and lose health points due to hunger or being attacked by other characters or animals. Once a character reaches zero health points, they will enter a near death state. Near death characters cannot be saved, but allow you as a player the chance to see what happened before their death. They will die if you type /die into the world chat as that character or after 30 days.
A character's inventory fills up depending on what items they have picked up and are currently carrying. Inventory size affects your character's movement speed.
A character's experience points represents how close they are to levelling up.

The character sheet is viewed by pressing t. It will show you the character's experience in various skills, as well as their current HP, level, and experience points.
Characters gain skill experience by doing related actions repeatedly - it will increase the efficiency that they complete those actions. For example, a character with a high farming skill will tend plants faster than a character with a low one.
