Players talk to each other through the voices of their characters. All talking must be roleplayed 'in character' of whichever character you are playing. Most players will have a few characters that they develop and use to interact with the world, and the majority of their characters will remain relatively undeveloped and mainly used to gather resources or further the economy.
Please report any abusive or OOC talking in the discord. Players who abuse the chat will be permanently banned.

It is often a better idea to talk directly to a character rather than to a location. Once two characters have spoken directly to each other, they will be able to do so at any distance - this is because in they have brainchips which enable long distance communication.
It can be a good strategy to mark out your 'main' characters through giving them more unique clothing or other outfits. If you have visitors to your town, make sure you speak to them through your 'town leader' characters so you don't have to keep checking the chat logs of a random farmer to communicate with them.

Tables are a special piece of furniture which function as chat rooms. Once you've spoken at a table for the first time you'll be able to keep chatting in it from then on in your chat logs.
Access to tables can be controlled to ensure that only members of certain groups can access them, or tables can function as different topics for discussion.
